Personal songs can hold deeply personal memories. This policy explains what we collect, why we need it, and the choices available to you.
A story, creative choices, any files you choose to add, and account details only if you sign in.
Your inputs are processed to draft lyrics and generate the song you request.
Signed-in songs can be managed in My Songs. Guest access depends on the private browser cookie, so paid files should be downloaded promptly.
You can request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of your personal data.
What we collect
We collect information you provide, technical information needed to operate the site, and transaction information from payment providers. We do not sell personal information.
If you sign in, this includes your name, email address, profile image, sign-in provider, and authentication records. If you continue as a guest, we assign a random browser identity and signed essential cookie; it does not contain your story or payment details.
Stories, names, lyrics, song preferences, generated audio, notes, and support messages. A draft may be held in this browser tab during creation. If you use voice input, your browser’s speech recognition service processes the audio and provides us with the resulting text.
Package, status, amount, and payment confirmation. We do not store full card details.
IP address, browser, device, and security events. Optional analytics is not currently active.
We use information to provide the creation flow, generate and deliver songs, protect guest access, authenticate accounts, recover drafts, process orders, answer support requests, prevent abuse, maintain security, comply with law, and improve the service. We rely on performing our contract, legitimate interests, legal obligations, and consent where applicable.
Story details, creative instructions, and any optional inspiration photos are sent to Google’s text and music generation services to produce the content you request and support service safety. Our music requests use Google’s stateless interaction setting so they are not retained as reusable interaction history. The Song For You does not train its own general-purpose model on your private story or song. Google may still process limited data for security, abuse prevention, legal compliance, and service operation under the terms that apply to our API use.
We use service providers for cloud hosting and storage (Cloudflare), authentication and AI-assisted generation (Google), email delivery, and—when checkout is enabled—payment processing (such as Stripe). They may process information on our behalf under their own privacy and security commitments. We may also disclose information when required by law or during a business transaction with appropriate safeguards.
Our providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use recognized transfer safeguards and take steps designed to protect information consistently with this policy.
We keep signed-in account information and songs while the account remains active or until a verified deletion request is completed, subject to payment, fraud-prevention, security, and legal records we must retain. A guest access cookie lasts up to 30 days; clearing it or letting it expire can remove browser access, so guests should download a paid song promptly. Guest song and order records may be retained for delivery, support, fraud prevention, disputes, and legal obligations. Optional inspiration photos are temporary inputs: they are removed after generation and automatically expire from our temporary storage within 24 hours. Creation drafts stored in browser storage remain until they expire, you start a new flow, or you clear browser data.
The service is intended for adults aged 18 or older and is not offered for use by minors. Please do not submit sensitive information about a child unless you are authorized to do so. Contact us if you believe a minor used the service or provided personal information.
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not currently use third-party advertising trackers. Because optional analytics and advertising tracking are not active, a browser Do Not Track signal does not change how this site operates. Essential providers may still receive the limited information described above when they provide authentication, hosting, generation, payment, security, or support functions.
This service is operated by Shawn Liu, an individual doing business as The Song For You, for customers in the United States and Canada. The business address is No. 101, Middle Section of Huangshan Avenue, Liangjiang Digital Economy Industrial Park, Chongqing, China (中国重庆市黄山大道中段 101 号两江数字经济园区). To review, correct, delete, or request a copy of personal information linked to an account or guest order, email privacy@thesongforyou.com or use the contact page. Include the account email or Stripe receipt reference needed to verify the request. Legal notices may be sent to legal@thesongforyou.com.
Your privacy choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to processing, withdraw consent, or receive a portable copy of your information.
Songs are private by default. Public use requires your separate permission.
